MEET “RECOVERY”Picture Gallery Sail Recovery Photos Please click the BACK button on your browser to return to this page. We would like to introduce you to our Chesapeake Bay adventure vessel “Recovery”. “Recovery” is a Coronado 45 sloop (two sails) built in 1974. “Recovery” is 45 feet long, 12 feet wide and draws only 4’ 11”. A great bay boat! “Recovery” is powered by a Perkins 4-108 50 horsepower diesel engine. She has a very large aft cockpit that is covered by a bimini and dodger. This adds comfort on sunny days! The cockpit can be fully enclosed in case of bad weather. Her cabin top forward is flat and spacious---a great place to lounge while under way. All lines are led aft so that sails may be controlled from the cockpit---a very important safety feature! Below, “Recovery” is spacious and comfortable. Just down the companionway steps to starboard is the owners cabin with a full size bed, hanging locker, roll-up desk style locker, and it’s own head (bathroom). Across from the owners cabin is the navigation station plus controls for all the electrical systems. Going forward but still to starboard is the galley which is equipped with a gas range with oven, a DC refrigerator- freezer, and microwave. The main saloon is just past the galley to starboard. It has a large “U” shaped dinette. The dining table drops down to make a double bed. Across from the dinette is a large settee. The back of the settee will swing up to make bunk beds. Going forward to starboard is the forward head with shower. Across from the forward head are hanging lockers. Forward of this is the “V” berth. It is located in the bow of the vessel hence the “V” shape. “Recovery” is a heavily built vessel. Below the waterline her hull is almost an inch thick of solid fiberglass. Most of her deck is 3/4 to an inch thick. The deck is cored with marine plywood, which adds strength but reduces weight. “Recovery” is a safe, stable, and fast vessel. Sailing on “Recovery” will give these special families an experience never to be forgotten!
